Concert in Akureyri Church 25 January
Right from its foundation in 1993, the North Iceland Symphony Orchestra has held most of their concerts in the two churches in Akureyri. Now that the HOF Cultural Centre has become a reality, great changes will be seen. At this important crossroads, we consider it appropriate to pay tribute to these venues by holding “a concert to be remembered”, on 25 January in Akureyri Church, where the soloist will be the resident organist Eyþór Ingi Jónsson.
The programme will comprise: Concerto for Organ and Orchestra Marco Enrico Bossi and Symphony no. 4 by L. van Beethoven.

On the North Iceland Symphony Orchestra’s programme for Sunday 8 March, is the First Performance of a double bass concerto for double bass and chamber orchestra by Óliver Kentish.
Soloist on double bass, Þórir Jóhannsson.
The soloist, Þórir Jóhannsson, is resident double bassist with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and Óliver’s concerto, Ad Lucem, was composed specially for him.
Also on the programme is "Petite Symphonie for Winds" by Charles Gounod and the suite for wind instruments, "The Good Soldier Švejk" by Robert Kurka.
Conductor: Guðmundur Óli Gunnarsson
The concert will be held in the Akureyri Theatre, 8 March at 16:00.
Concert in Glerá Church, Maundy Thursday, 9 April
