The Orchestra Board
According to the organisational register, the board of directors of the North Iceland Symphony shall, from the year 2002
comprise 5 members.
The Cultural Affairs Committee of Akureyri Municipality shall nominate 3 members and
the musicians of the orchestra, two.
The Board of Directors:
› Gunnar Frímannsson, President of the Board, representative for Akureyri Municipality
› Elín M. Lýðsdóttir, representative of Akureyri Municipality
› Víglundur Þorsteinsson, representative of Akureyri Municipality
› Vilhjálmur Ingi Sigurðarson, representative of the orchestra's musicians
› Una Björg Hjartardóttir, representative of the orchestra's musicians
Programme co-ordinators:
› Guðmundur Óli Gunnarsson, resident conductor
› Lára Sóley Jóhannsdóttir, representative of the orchestra's musicians;
