The Skagafjörður Operatic Society
The programme for the SN's 15th season is a varied one and begins with a performance of La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi. For this occasion, the orchestra joins forces with the The Skagafjörður Operatic Society, the performance taking place on 25 August at 16:00 in the Glerá School Sports Stadium.
The Skagafjörður Operatic Society was founded last winter and La Traviata is the society's first opera. Their first performance of this opera was during Skagafjörður's Summer Arts Week and was warmly received by both audience and critics.

On Sunday 9 September there will be a concert with Kristján Jóhannsson which bears the title "For Mother". Also performing with Kristján will be Sofia Mitropoulos, soprano, and Corrado Allessandro Cappita, baritone.
The programme comprises arias from operas by Verdi, Bizet, Mascagni and Leoncavallo. The concert is in cooperation with KA Sports Club.
"Requiem" by Gabriel Fauré.
On Sunday 28 October there will be a performance of Gabriel Fauré's "Requiem" and the oboe concerto by Tomaso Albinoni.
Soloist on oboe is Gillian Haworth.
Soloists (vocal): Helena Guðlaug Bjarnadóttir, Michael Jón Clarke, Steinrún Ótta Stefánsdóttir and Herbjörn Þórðarson.
Choirs participating in the concert will be the Glerá Church Choir, and a mixed choir from the East of Iceland.
This concert will be repeated in Eskifjörður on Sunday, 4 November.

On Saturday 8th December, the North Iceland Symphony Orchestra and the Þór Sports Club in the Akureyri Sports Stadium will hold an Advent Festival.
The evening's events will commence with a concert of music for the festivals of Christmas and Advent performed by the North Iceland Symphony Orchestra; soloist, Garðar Thor Cortes.
A Christmas buffet will be held at the close of the concert.
The conductor of the North Iceland Symphony Orchestra is Guðmundur Óli Gunnarsson.

The first concert after the New Year will be held on Sunday 3 February at 16:00 in Glerá Church. On the programme are: Flute Concerto by Jacque Ibert and Symphony no 6 by Ludwig van Beethoven.

On Maundy Thursday, 20 March, the orchestra will perform the Violin Concerto by Antonín Dvoøák.

A joint concert by the Akureyri Music School and the North Iceland Symphony Orchestra
The Akureyri Music School and theNorth Iceland Symphony Orchestra will hold a joint concert in the Glerá Sports Stadium, Sunday 20 April at 16:00.

The Mývatn Choral Festival
A concert will be held on Sunday 8 June at 15:00 in the Reykjahlíð Sports Stadium.
On the programme will be Carmina Burana by Carl Orff.
